Johann Strauss – New Year’s concert at Palau de la Musica Catalana
The outstanding Strauss Festival Orchestra will offer the traditional New Year’s concert at the Palau de la Musica Catalana with the best Johann Strauss waltz and polkas.
The Strauss Festival Orchestra has had great success at the different European auditoriums such as the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Leipzing Gewandhaus, Berlin Philarmonie or the Hamburg Musikhalle. The Orchestra consists of great qualified professional teachers and soloists that keep the typical Viennese artistic expressions.
The Palau de la Musica was opened on February 9th 1908 and is one of the most representative Catalan modernist style buildings. It has been the privileged stage for the national and international concert life of the city of Barcelona for one hundred years.
Barcelona Music tour
The fabulous Palau de la Musica Catalan is included in our special Barcelona Music tour. This private guided tour starts visiting the Gran Teatro del Liceo (Opera house). This is an exclusive inside visit of the stage, the rehearse rooms, the tailor’s shop, the dressing room and other areas.
Afterwards, the group will stop for a coffee break at the Opera Café, a well-known modernist style café. Once we had our coffee we will carry on with the visit of Beethoven house, an ancient music and score shop located at “Ramblas”. The next music venue will be an an emblematic luthier workshop, visiting the inside.
The tours ends with a visit of the magnificent “Palau de la Musica Catalana”, one of the main world music halls declared World Heritage Site by the UNESCO.
